Look for opportunities to build relationships of trust with other people who will join you in action. Invite like-minded friends for walks or coffee or potlucks, form action-oriented affinity groups, book clubs or study groups. Hold each other accountable and help each other grow as activists.
Join a national grassroots resistance group like Indivisible.org, Moveon.org, Showing up for Racial Justice, Working Families Party. We can accomplish more together than alone. Choose the organization that feels right to you.

Over the long term,

Remember that trust is the first step in changing minds; don't shy away from difficult conversations. Engage in deep canvassing.
Help get out the VOTE. Urge your friends, family, and neighbors to register and vote in EVERY ELECTION. Most Americans don't vote in most elections. If we ALL did, we could make a difference.
Know who is running for office in your community's major parties Actively support candidates for EVERY office, up and down that ballot, whose values reflect your own.
Exercise the power of your wallet. Support businesses that support your values.
